Another Atom-powered system makes its way on the marketAcer, the world's third largest vendor of personal computer systems, has announced today the official debut of its latest Veriton desktop system, the Veriton Z280G-EA271CP, now available in the U.S. commercial market. Built as an all-in-one PC, the new model has been designed as an alternative to some of the other Intel Atom-powered all-in-one PCs currently available on the market. Boasting an 18.5-inch widescreen LCD monitor, the new Veriton PC is an alternative for mainstream users who are looking for an energy-efficient personal computer that can deliver a basic computing experience.
“Generous with style, yet conservative with space and price, the Veriton Z280G is an asset to any home office or corporate setting,” said Leila Axelle Robert, Acer Commercial Systems Business Manager. “Users are sure to enjoy the brilliant display that showcases presentations, spreadsheets and Internet content in vivid clarity, while business owners and IT specialists will appreciate the system’s excellent value and energy savings.”
Inside the Acer Veriton Z280G, users will find an Intel N270 1.6GHz processor, coupled with the integrated Intel GMA 950 graphics chipset and 2GB of DDR2 memory. There's also a 160GB hard drive, a SuperMulti optical drive, multi-in-one card reader, five USB 2.0 ports, Gigabit LAN and WiFi 802.11 b/g connectivity. The 18.5-inch widescreen LCD monitor can deliver support for a 1366 x 768 resolution, with 16:9 aspect ratio and 1000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.
Trying to sweeten the offer, Acer has also included a generous software package, which includes Adobe Reader and Cyberlink DVD, as well as the Acer eRecovery Management application, for creating system backups but also restoring the original system configurations, including Acer applications and drivers. The system is available through the company's authorized resellers with prices starting at just US$499, according to the manufacturer.
