Acer Unveils beTouch E120 and E130 with Android

Computer maker Acer has just announced the launch of two new devices powered by Google's Android operating system, the beTouch E120 and beTouch E130. The new handsets are set to come to the market in July and August, respectively, and to feature two different form factors, as beTouch E120 is a full touch device, while beTouch E130 sports a QWERTY keyboard in a candybar form factor.

Both new mobile phones share a series of specifications, including support for 3G+ connectivity, high-speed browsing capabilities, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity options, or built-in GPS receiver. Moreover, both come with a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper, as well as with FM Radio. A 1500 mAh battery powers each of them.

The Acer beTouch E120 sports a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, complemented by a 5-way navi key for enhanced usability. The handset should arrive on the market with an affordable price tag attached to it, while being able to meet the needs of any user new to the smartphone space. The menus on the beTouch E120 are fun to navigate courtesy of an intuitive user interface, enabling users to make personalizations via widgets.

The new mobile phone comes with integrated Facebook and Twidroid applications so that one can stay in touch with friends at all times. Moreover, the device includes a MicroSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space, providing users with enough memory to carry with them music, photos and videos. The Acer beTouch E120 is expected to become available for purchase in mid-July in black and white.

The Acer beTouch E130 boasts a compact design, being only 11.5mm thick and weighing in at 109 grams. The phone combines a 2.6-inch touchscreen display with a QWERTY keyboard for expanded functionality. According to the company, the keyboard should offer maximum comfort, and great precision in typing. The phone supports popular email services, Microsoft Exchange servers, Facebook, Twidroid and Google applications and more. Available starting August, the device should come in two color versions too, black and white.
