Update fixes problems with real-time playback in FCP with certain MacsApple has released an update to its powerful video-editing solution for Mac OS X, Final Cut Pro. Version 6.0.6 fixes problems with real-time playback in Final Cut Pro with Mac Pro (Early 2009) models and Xserve (Early 2009) models, to note a few changes.
“The first choice of professional editors worldwide, Final Cut Pro 6 delivers high-performance digital nonlinear editing, native support for virtually any video format, and facility-class extensibility and interoperability,” Apple says.
“Its workflow extends through the other Final Cut Studio applications and Final Cut Server for even more power. Whether you’re working solo or collaborating with a team, Final Cut Pro gives you more creative options and technical control than ever before,” the company stresses.
Besides fixing problems with real-time playback in Final Cut Pro with Mac Pro (Early 2009) models and Xserve (Early 2009) models, Final Cut Pro 6.0.6 also addresses specific customer issues and general performance issues, improves overall stability, and supports compatibility for additional video devices, according to the company behind the Mac operating system.
On a more detailed note, Apple reveals that the update also delivers improved real-time playback capabilities with the aforementioned Mac Pro and and Xserve models, “when working with complex sequences or high-bandwidth media formats.” According to the Cupertino-based company, “This update is recommended for all Final Cut Pro 6 users.”
Users can either employ their Macs’ Software Updaters to download and automatically install the update, or they can use the standalone installer (available for free download using the link below). By choosing the second method, they are required to wait until the Final Cut Pro 6.0.6 package is downloaded, double-click the installer package, and follow the on-screen instructions.
