Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi are said to be considering cementing their romance by becoming first-time parents.
Although the two stars did not reveal their choice for adoption or for natural birth, comedienne DeGeneres confessed she's been thinking about motherhood - and she's aware she has to act fast.
"I think we should do it (have a child) soon... When I'm around babies, I just melt. It's a big responsibility", she told America's People magazine.
Ellen DeGeneres has also talked about America's strict anti-gay marriage laws, as she wants to make sure her partner would be well looked after if anything should happen to her.
"If it were legal, we would be married, but it's not legal. I hate politics, but I think everyone should be treated equally", she explained.
"If I die tomorrow, everything's taken away. We've taken precautions for that and she's taken care of, but, because we're not married, the taxes could take everything", the talk show star added.
"It's the first time that I've known in every cell of my being that I'm with somebody for the rest of my life", Ellen confessed.
"When it comes to starting a family, that's the only time I think about age; I think we should do it soon", the 47-year-old star declared.
