There is a surge of free pornography targeting a critical vulnerability in Windows Vista. Pornographic content involving hard core porno actress Jenna Jameson and the sexually exuberant pop princesses Britney Spears and Paris Hilton is served directly to Windows Vista users. Britney Spears naked, Britney Spears naked pussy & Paris Hilton, Nude Jenna Jameson and hot pictures of Paris Hilton nude are the hooks designed to advertise the pleasures hidden behind a click of the mouse. And if it sounds too good to be true it's because it is.
In fact, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears and Jenna Jameson are used as incentives in a social engineering scheme designed to convince users to visit malicious websites built to exploit the Windows Animated Cursor Handling vulnerability in Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
Security company Sophos has warned that a Windows attacks are just one click away from artistic and intimate, preferable sexually explicit images of the pop queens and Jenna. The expansive sexuality of the three women is being exploited to, in turn, exploit the .ANI file format handling vulnerability in Windows.
"The problem is that consumers and businesses may not yet have patched themselves against this vulnerability, and clicking on unsolicited emails like these could lead them to a nasty malware infection," said Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant for Sophos. "Microsoft issued a patch for the problem last week, but determined hackers look set on taking advantage of the security flaw for some time to come."
There are two different spam campaigns: one debuted on March 30 and one on April 11, 2007. The attacks aiming to exploit the Windows Animated Cursor Handling vulnerability are designed to spread the Troj/Iffy-B, Troj/Iffy-A and Troj/Animoo-LTrojan horses.
"This latest attack is believed to be by the same group of hackers that last week spammed out scantily clad pictures of Britney Spears to exploit the Microsoft vulnerability. It follows news that Paris Hilton and Jenna Jameson were seen celebrating the latter's birthday party together at a trendy LA club last weekend. This is not the first time that Paris Hilton has been used as bait in an attempt to trick innocent computer users into viral infection. The promise of glimpses of pin-ups like Britney Spears, Halle Berry, Avril Lavigne, Anna Kournikova, Julia Roberts, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Jennifer Lopez, or the stars of 'Sex and the City' have previously been used to help viruses spread," Sophos revealed.
