FlexFrame Infrastructure is now available for purchasingFujitsu-Siemens Computers, one of the largest manufacturers of computer systems for both consumer and business users, has recently announced that it will start delivering ServerView PAN Manager. This move comes as a means by which the company intends to extend its innovative FlexFrame Infrastructure to its PRIMERGY Servers. These servers have been completely designed to ensure a stable computing experience for those users in need of a strong built industry server.
The ServerView PAN Manager has been designed as a centralized, automated IT platform meant to deliver systems the capability to be dynamically adjusted to always provide an optimum performance. Fujitsu-Siemens' revolutionary FlexFrame Infrastructure uses a virtualized, application-independent platform designed to offer features that support both physical and virtual resources. The ServerView PAN Manager is not a new technology to be used in Fujitsu-Siemens' products, as this IT platform was firs introduced in PRIMERGY BladeFrame servers.
The technology, which is powered by Egenera, is at the basis of the FlexFrame Infrastructure. The success of this software package on the PRIMERGY BladeFrame servers has led Fujitsu-Siemens to extend its capabilities to the PRIMERGY BX600 servers. With this operational software, servers will no longer be seen as a traditional physical device with a specific hardware configuration, operating system and application. Instead, we will see them become software-based devices, to which processors and memory modules can be dynamically assigned to serve any purpose for which they are needed.
The ServerView PAN Manager has been designed to simplify the way an administrator would configure, allocate or manage both physical and virtual servers, bringing all functions into a single uniform management interface. In doing so, Fujitsu-Siemens will provide an easier and faster interface for their own service.
Jens-Peter Seick, Senior Vice President, Enterprise Server Business at Fujitsu Siemens Computers, said that: "Service-oriented IT infrastructure solutions, such as FlexFrame for SAP or FlexFrame for Oracle, can slash total cost of ownership by 30 to 40 percent in certain areas, while at the same time maintaining a consistently high quality of service with less cost and effort. These pre-integrated solutions differentiate Fujitsu Siemens Computers in the marketplace, and our customers benefit from the know-how we have gained through several hundred deployments."
