There are many users searching for a way to protect their peace and quite time by keeping unwanted calls off of their phones. Unfortunately, most of the Symbian devices don't include in their firmware blacklisting applications, but there are a few third-party applications that can help. Handy Blacklist enables users to avoid phone calls from someone they just don’t want to hear from. The application is fully compatible with any Symbian S60 smartphone and easily installs OTA or through the Nokia PC Suite software.
Handy Blacklist features two types of lists with different functions that will keep unwanted calls hidden from users. One list designates the blacklisted phone numbers, while the other only those that are allowed. Be very careful when defining both, as only one list can be activated at a time.
The first is called Blacklist and contains numbers you want to be blocked. Users will be able to add numbers from recent calls, contact list or just by manually typing them. In case you have just rejected a call manually, the application will immediately offer you the chance to add that number to the blacklist automatically. Blocking of Private and Unknown calls is also available.
The second list, called Allow list, contains numbers that will be allowed to be received while others will be rejected. Moreover, users will be able to choose a "reject" action to return a pre-written text message back to the caller. Also, a notification of the missed calls appearing in a pop-up note can be set by users as. A new function has been implemented in the latest version of Handy Blacklist, Call Forward, which is in fact an additional "reject" action for Allow list that lets users forward calls to a preset number.
In case you only need to reject calls temporarily, Timed activation is available for both lists. To keep users updated, a floating indicator on the standby screen shows what list is currently activated. Tracking of the blocked calls is reflected as Log view, from which users can add numbers to Allow list, call that number and send SMS to it.
The application is fully customizable, so you'll be able to turn on and off the Active standby indicator, notification of the missed calls, and inquiry for blacklisting the rejected calls, and also set the period of the log duration.
The trial version is fully functional for 14 days; after that period, you'll have to buy the software for about $24.95 USD.
