Oscar-winning actress and singer unveils slimmer bodyFormer American Idol contestant and Oscar-winning actress and singer Jennifer Hudson revealed the other day her much slimmer body. The star, who gave birth to her first child a few months ago and who has always been a bit on the fuller side has become the spokesperson for Weight Watchers and, as People informs, so far this has proved to be one of the wisest decisions she’s made so far.
Hudson gained a lot of pounds for the role that got her the much-coveted Oscar statuette in the film “Dreamgirls” and then lost all the extra weight just in time for the big premiere. Becoming pregnant with her son David Daniel Otunga Jr. also meant she packed a few more pounds – but she’s now happy to report that all that extra weight is gone. Weight Watchers is not just a diet, it’s an entirely new lifestyle, the star says, and she’s ecstatic about the chance of trying it out made available to her.
“With Weight Watchers, I am enjoying the weight loss because I’m doing it the right way – I feel empowered with what I’ve learned, everything from portion control to what foods will help keep me satisfied. It’s a lifestyle change, not a diet. I can follow the plan no matter where I am, still enjoy my favorite foods and even use the iPhone app to track my points,” the 28-year-old star says for People magazine.
The star also put in an appearance on Good Morning America the other day, where she rocked the skinny jeans look and gushed about her much slimmer figure. Teaming up with Weight Watchers means more than just shedding a few pounds: it’s also about being healthy and making the right choices. “I was very comfortable with myself before. I have a child now and I want to set a great example for him. Make better life choices, health choices, and just create a good example for him growing up,” Jennifer said on the show.
