Rule of Rose controversy again?I don't know what is wrong with the world today, but looks like some politicians beg for attention, as they are giving out controversial statements. A good way to get noticed as a politician is to come down on video games.
Start criticizing video games' violent content and other whatnots and be sure that you will make the headlines. Throw in some "porn" in your statement and you will get some serious media coverage. So if this is what they want, let's give it to them.
This is the case of British Home Secretary John Reid, who addressed European Union members this week in Brussels, and discussed about violence in video games. He said that what is unacceptable material in one EU country is accepted in others and therefore, the European Union can not impose some common measures for all its states. Reid continued, explaining that he is referring to violence in video games as part of a harmful spectrum, according to GamePolitics. He continued by saying that the most extreme and harmful end of the spectrum and his main concern regarding video games is child pornography.
What is wrong with these politicians? Don't they have anything better to do than to pick on video games? Child pornography? Where? Is he referring to Rule of Rose? I know this game got some criticism from EU officials, because of its so called "erotic themes". And I must inform John Reid that erotic is not the same as pornography. But I guess the he is more familiar with the porn industry than me .
