Fans of pop princess Britney Spears can breathe easy because the new year comes with new music from their idol. A new song by Spears called “Hold It Against Me” will premiere on January 7, it has emerged.
Confirmation of this doesn’t come from Spears camp, but it is from a reliable source, says MTV News: Sharon Dastur, program director for New York’s Z100.
“It’s produced by Dr. Luke and Max Martin. And the beat that they give her is really unique compared to other artists — this infectious bass beat beneath the song. Plus, the hook is just amazing. It will be out on January 7,” Dastur reveals in a recent interview.
Speculation about Brit’s upcoming album has been rife in the second half of the year, with some even hinting online it was to drop in a matter of just a few weeks.
Clearly, that didn’t happen. Now we know for a fact that the material will arrive in stores in March, but talk about the sound it will approach, the collaborators and more continues online.
“Swedish producer Shellback recently spoke about Spears’ work ethic and professionalism while working on her new LP, which drops in March,” says MTV.
Shellback had nothing but wonderful words to say about the pop star, who seems to have come out of that dark moment in her life, when she came so close to nearly losing it all.
“[Britney]’s actually damn professional. You read a lot on the Internet that Britney is not singing and mimes, but she is actually damn professional,” the producer said in a recent interview cited by MTV.
“She’s done it since she was 16. And just rhythmic way, she is [expletive-]ing awesome! And you do not have to go through and talk about the rhythms and stuff that you sometimes have to do. She’s very easy in the studio,” Shellback revealed.
This comes to confirm what other producers on Britney’s upcoming album has also been saying: she’s committed to making it yet another best-seller.
