The popular Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is available starting today on the airwaves of Cincinnati Bell Wireless, a division of Cincinnati Bell Inc. Through the introduction of Nokia’s first mass-market touchscreen smartphone, Cincinnati Bell becomes the first carrier in the United States to offer it, providing its subscribers with enhanced functionality of a touchscreen device at an attractive price point.
“The touch screen Nokia 5800 XpressMusic adds a new dimension to Cincinnati Bell’s growing smartphone lineup,” said Tim Bracken, director of consumer wireless for Cincinnati Bell. “It truly is a modern entertainment device with advanced Web browsing, built-in GPS, picture messaging, and music capabilities that surpass expectations for a fresh everyday smartphone. Also, the Nokia 5800 is WiFi-enabled, which means customers can achieve some of the fastest data speeds available today.”
The specification list of the phone should be already known, yet we will cover some of its most attractive features, such as the 3.2-inch display, WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, quad-band GSM for international roaming, e-mail options such as Mail for Exchange and support for IMAP, POP3, and SMTP protocols, 3.2-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss Optics, stereo speakers or the Nokia digital music player that supports mp3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+ and WMA file formats.
In addition, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic NAM also comes with an 8GB microSD memory card, while featuring a Media Bar that offers one-touch access to music, image gallery or the web browser. Moreover, it also includes a Contacts Bar, which is meant to allow for fast connecting with contacts or for easy access history of incoming, outgoing and missed calls or messages.
According to Cincinnati Bell Wireless, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is available for $149 with a new activation and mail-in rebate. The rate plans that would go hand in hand with the new phone, the carrier says, include the Cincinnati Bell Smart Phone Family Plan as well as individual plans that start at $49 per month, while offering unlimited text, picture messaging, and Internet. More information can be found on the company's site.
“The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic has sold over three million units globally since it came to market in October of 2008 through our various partnerships including a wide range of operators,” says Ian Laing, vice president of sales, Nokia North America. “With the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, Cincinnati Bell Wireless customers will receive a spectacular music experience along with the quality expected from a Nokia device.”
