Singing sensation Susan Boyle is about to become a multi-millionaire in just days. Precisely on her birthday, the singer is to receive her first paycheck after the massive hit that was her debut album, “I Dreamed a Dream,” and it will instantly put her in the big league in terms of estimated worth, as the Daily Mail informs.
Though Susan has done wonderfully for herself ever since she shot to international fame on the talent televised competition Britain’s Got Talent, she’s yet to see a penny from all that. Her record album sales and successful performances so far have generated a lot of profit, but her label has not yet paid her for them, sources close to her say. In exchange, her label has made sure she lacked nothing, be it clothing items or other things.
“Just under a year ago Susan, 48, or SuBo as she is known, wowed judges and the nation with her frumpy appearance on the hit TV show Britain’s Got Talent, singing I Dreamed A Dream. Now she has been told she is to get her first payday on her birthday, April 1, when an astonishing £4 million will be put into her bank account. The earnings come from the sales of her chart-topping debut album and a string of international appearances. But friends do not expect the unlikely star to have her head turned by the payout,” the Mail writes.
“People have thought of Susan as a millionaire for months already because her album was launched in November but she hasn’t got it yet. Up until now, her management team have made sure she never wanted for anything, but this is her long-awaited payday finally arriving,” an unnamed source tells the British tab. The amount circulated in the media for the first paycheck is similar to the one she was rumored to make about a year or so ago.
Susan Boyle is signed to Simon Cowell’s SyCo label and has become, thanks to the “I Dreamed a Dream” album, the fastest selling debut ever in the history of music. The material sold 3.1 million copies in its first month of release, soon reaching 8.5 million copies sold worldwide and thus setting a new record.
