Best investment opportunities according to financial studyAn advisory panel formed by representatives from PricewaterhouseCoopers (financial consultancy), Kemp Little (legal consultancy for tech companies) and British newspaper The Guardian has comprised a list of the top 100 best investment opportunities in the British tech media sector. The list is dominated by online companies that mainly rely on the web to offer their services, showing again the dominance the Internet has in current, day-to-day activities and businesses.
From this list, five companies have been chosen to receive an Innovation award (given by Kemp Little) and a Hottest Prospect award (given by PricewaterhouseCoopers). For the first award, there have been nominated Datmedia (online video streaming), Golden Gecko (mobile application software), Huddle from Ninian Solutions (online project-management software), Plastic Logic (inkjet printing on plastic components) and Scene Services (3D, animated reconstructions).
For the Hottest Prospect award, there have been nominated Huddle from Ninian Solutions, Adjug (online advertising exchange and online video advertising), Comufy from Chootta Ltd. (communication platform), Realtime Worlds (software for entertainment platforms) and Slicethepie (consumer-driven filter for new music). The winners will be announced on October 1st at the Tech Media Invest 2009 conference and will receive free financial and legal advice from Kemp Little and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Even if not nominated for one of the awards, online companies have been constantly named in the top 100. Some of them are: iDesktop.tv (onlline interface for viewing YouTube videos), Quick.tv (interactive online video platform), We7 (online music sharing), Audio-Boo (sound-sharing website), Tweetmeme (Twitter aggregate links), Dopplr (online platform for sharing travel and business plans), Mydeo (video streaming), Pixsta (image and video search), Upad (UK property real-estate rental online marketplace), Mixcloud (online platform for on-demand radio shows), and the list could go on and on.
