Microsoft is offering gamers a chance to win some rather sweet gear for their consoles via the Microsoft Kinect for Xbox 360 Experience Prize Draw promotion.Essentially, Xbox 360 console owners can win a Kinect device, the innovative new NUI (Natural User Interface) motion-sensing accessory which was unveiled officially at the 2010 Electronics Entertainment Expo.
And while the Redmond company is gearing up for the fall release of Kinect, it is also offering gamers a chance to grab one of controllers through the Kinect Experience Sweepstakes.
“We've got tons of great prizes to give away, including two Grand Prize packages that include the new Xbox 360 Kinect bundle,” Microsoft noted.
According to the software giant, no purchase is necessary for users to enter the sweepstakes. However, the promotion is limited to residents of the United States.
“Before entering the sweepstakes, make sure your Xbox LIVE account information is accurate!” the company said.
“Potential winners will be notified by the sweepstakes administrator and have their prizes shipped using the contact info (e-mail, phone, and address) on their Xbox LIVE profile. If your contact info is not up to date you will be disqualified from winning a prize,” Microsoft added.
In order to get a chance at winning, gamers need only download the free Kinect Experience gamer pic from Marketplace.
The sweepstakes have already been kicked off, on August 10, but there’s plenty of time to enter, as the sweepstakes ends on September 30, 2010.
The free Kinect Experience Gamer Pictures is available for download in the Themes & Gamer Pictures section of your console Dashboard. Microsoft is limiting the number of downloads/entries to one per person.
“After the close of the Entry Period, we will randomly select the winners from among all eligible entries received,” the company revealed.
Microsoft is offering two Grand Prize Packages comprising: “Xbox 360 4GB Kinect Bundle; Xbox 360 Black Wireless Controller with Play and Charge; Xbox 360 Wireless Controller; Xbox 360 Wireless Headset; 12-month Xbox LIVE Gold Subscription; 4,000 Microsoft Points and Xbox 360 Chatpad.”
